Overshadowed by lingering concerns about the emergence of the new COVID variant Omicron, the key stock indices Sensex and Nifty dropped more than 1 percent in the early trade on Monday.
25 of its 30 components traded in the red as the 30-share BSE Sensex dropped by 585.22 points or 1.02 percent to 56,521.93.
Jio increases prepaid tariffs by up to 21% on Dec 1

Reliance Jio on Sunday announced it would raise its prepaid tariffs by 21 percent from next month, following Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.

Jio has kept the price of plans lower than Airtel and Vodafone Ideas despite the increase in prices, which will continue the price war in the industry.

Jiophone customers still pay the lowest rate of Rs 91 for 28 days validity plans, which is the lowest among private telecom operators.

The government has published a draft framework for cross-border insolvency proceedings based on the UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) model under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

FPIs have bought 5,319 billion despite market correction in November

Over the past fortnight, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have pumped in a net sum of Rs 5,319 crore in the domestic capital markets despite a massive correction in equities.

In October, they sold goods worth Rs 12,437 crore net.

Overseas investors made a net investment of Rs 1,400 crore into equities and Rs 3,919 crore into debt between November 1-26, according to depositories.

In total, this translated into a net investment of Rs 5,319 crore.
