An intercom system with speakers lets occupants to communicate with those outside the car, a fre suppression system with nozzles situated under the body, and an emergency evacuation system that allows occupants to blast the door hinges if the doors become jammed. An emergency fresh air system, which gives passengers with a limited amount of fresh air if the circumstance requires it, is also included in the safety measures. Individual door unlocking is also available on the A8L Security.
The 4.0-litre turbo-charged V8 engine, which is the same as in the S8, produces 571hp and 800Nm of torque. Quattro all- wheel drive is standard, as is an 8-speed automatic transmission.
